Christmas means solidarity at IC Sestri Levante
In the past three years our minds evolved due to many projects in social studies which made us more respectful.
In 6th grade we made a table clothand its corners there were 4 objectives from the "Agenda 2030". In the front we made a drawing which symbolised peace. On the back side we wrote a letter for people to sensibilize them towards peace and respect. They were graded and exchanged.
In the second year we built a pen holder from a jar and we had to decorate it however we liked it. In it we had to put a pencil and a letter addressed to a fictitious friend. Then we had to bring them to school and they were showcased, they were graded and we got a random one back.
In the third year we built a time machine with recycled materials. We also had to write a letter to our grandparents in which we re-lived the happiest moments. The time machine will be brought to school, showcased, graded and exchanged. While the letter will be graded and we will give them to our grandparents on Xmas day.
In these three years we are very happy informed about what is happening in the world and I created a lot of memories.
Every year we give some euros in charity during these events where we exchange presents and the school donate this money to associations and local hospitals.

Universal Declaration of Human's Rights at IC Sestri Levante
Hello everyone, today we want to tell you about one of our activities we did yesterday.
It is about civic education and human rights and particularly about children rights. First, we compared the conditions to keep a dog in good health and happy and we discovered that metaphorically those conditions are tha same ones as the children's ones. We realized that some kids around the world are pretty unlucky and can't take advantage of the rights that they should have. The dog's name was Dudu which is the Italian acronym of Universal Declaration of Human's Rights.
After that, we played a game where we had to rank the rights according to their importance. At the end one group figured out that all the rights are on the same level.
The last topic we focused on was the foundation of the ONU after the Second World War. We will finish the activities on the 27th May because on this day Italy signed the famous book of the human rights with a big jigsaw in our basketball court.

This activity has made us more aware of the world of human rights. At the beginning there was an exercise where we had to write what it takes to raise a healthy and happy dog; then we compared them to what it takes to raise a healthyand happy child understanding that a kid needs additional care. We had two humanrights games.
In the first was ranking one throw nine some of the rights. This was a trickgame, they are all equally important.
In the second game we were the captains of a ship and we had to remove three cards, with human rights writtenon them, after every accident. This activity helped us expand our knowledge on this topic
