Happy Peace Day

Peace Day is a special day when everyone around the world comes together to promote peace and understanding. It happens on the 30th of January  every year. On this day, people do different things to show their support for peace.

Some people might organize events like concerts, marches, or art exhibitions to spread the message of peace. Others might hold discussions or workshops about how to solve conflicts peacefully. Many schools also take part by teaching about the importance of peace and encouraging students to be kind to one another.

At La Encarnación school, Peace Day has been a day of celebration and reflection, focused on the transformative power of empathy and understanding. With the theme "Recipe for Peace", students have participated in activities that encouraged dialogue and creativity. The morning concluded with a collective commitment to take with us the lessons learned and work together to promote peace everywhere.

Peace Day is important because it reminds us that even though there are many problems in the world, we can all work together to make it a better place. It's a time for us to think about how we can be more peaceful in our own lives and how we can help others do the same.

So, on Peace Day, let's all take a moment to think about how we can spread peace and make the world a happier and safer place for everyone.

HAPPY PEACE DAY TO EVERYBODY

Regional athletics students championship

Written by Flavio S., Daniel C., Domenico G., Ikhlase L., Alessandro S., Lorenzo S.

On January 16th we arrived at the train station at quarter to seven and after half an hour we were on board of the train. We changed the train in Genoa Nervi and headed towards the stadium. We started our warm-up routines and shortly after the races started: first the younger girls, then the younger boys, after that the older girls and then it was our turn. We had students running as teams and solos. The team qualified as second good placement: a first, two 15th, a 24th, and a 48th. The ride home was less chaotic than the first one and you would chat with friends. Now our next destination is Imperia to run a 1,5 km cross.

At the competition Flavio A., Alessandro B., and Daniel C. took part and they qualified for the next competition Imperia on February 6th.

Today we are having a selection at school to take part in the competition in Imperia… Good luck and break a leg!

💪🍀

Back to school after Christmas holidays

"Like a fairytale"

It is a Christmas village in Soufli, where many pupils participate. It took place between 23rd and 30th December. This is a video and here is how our students experienced it!

Chris: "In the village of Soufli, the greatest attraction is a park that’s like a fairy tale. In it there are a lot of places you can go but one that stands out the most is the school of Harry Potter. This house is the one that always has the longest line due to it’s great popularity. In the house there were 4 trials to be completed which change every year. When you complete the 4 trials you can go to the back to find a different thing, this year it was the prison of Azkaban."

John: "In the Christmas eve in Soufli in Evros, I took part in the Christmas village "Like a Fairytale" and I was in the house of Santa Claus! The Santa Claus house has 2 rooms: The first room had some activities for the children, for instance writing letter to Santa, and in the second room it was Santa! The most important you could take a photo with him with the help of an elf."

Nikolas: "The park of Asterix and Ovelix took place “like a fairytale” too and many people visited it. It consisted of the small houses of Asterix's village and the magic cave."

Documentary for Dadia Forest

Written by Konstantinos K.

Last year we had the chance to make a documentary for the fire in a nearby forest, one of the most well know, the forest in Dadia. We made this documentary with the help of many of 20 of my classmates at school and one professional director, Anagnostopoulos Nikos from Neaniko Plano institution. We made this documentary titled "The riders of the fire" in one week.

Back to school after Christmas holidays

  Gabriele T.

It’s 8th January and the school is back.

So I want to tell you how I feel and how my holidays were. The last day of school was the funniest and the most glorious of the whole year, and Christmas too. I got many gifts , such as PS5.

The five days before the new year were so unforgettable. The last day of the year I celebrated the new one with friends and cousins, and the other days I finished my homework. Today I feel tired and nervous. How were your holidays? Tell me.

Domenico G.

My Christmas holidays were good. My favourite day was New Year’s Eve, that I spent with my friends. At 1 a.m. after dinner we went to Luna park and finally at 3 a.m. I went back home. The next day I and my family went skiing to Trentino and we also visited Trento.

This morning I was sad because I didn’t want to go to school, but now I’m kinda happy because I can see my friends.

Daniel C.

My Christmas holidays were very fun and I enjoyed myself. On my holidays I played football with my friends and went on a trip to Florence with my family. In Florence there are a lot male statues and most of them are naked, I had an ice cream near the center of the city and it was artificial and you could tell from the look of it. It gave me a stomachache and I had to go to the bathroom twice. When I thought of school and that I needed to go back I felt sad because the fun was ending.

Alessandro S.

These Christmas holidays were very nice. I spent this time together with my parents, my aunt, my cousin, my brother and my uncle. Returning to school I was happy because I  met again my friends but I was sad because the holidays finished.

Sebastiano V.

I had a great holiday. When I went back to school I was happy because I saw my friends again.

Asia M.

My holidays were relaxing but also challenging. Going back to school wasn’t very exciting. I would have preferred to stay at home a little longer. But if we did this we wouldn’t learn anything, so “strength and courage”.

Flavio A.

My holidays were very nice and enjoyable: surprisingly we had a lot less homework. We went straight to my grandmother’s house and stayed for 3 days. On the 26th we went to Switzerland and stayed till the 6th. While we were there we ate fabulous food and went skiing on wonderful slopes. When I realised that the holidays were going to finish I felt sad because being on holidays is very nice and everybody likes it.

Lorenzo S.

The Christmas holidays I spent at my grandma’s house were happy. After the dinner I opened the presents and I was very happy for what I got. When I return to school I am sad but I am happy to meet my schoolmates.
